This research aims to explain the relationship between theological rationality and virtue-oriented ethics in the Imami rationalist movement, in three stages of development from Sayyid Murtaza to Allama Helli, with an emphasis on the intermediary role of Sheikh Tusi. The article, with a qualitative approach and the use of conceptual analysis in the form of reconstructing and evaluating the logic of the theologians' arguments in the form of text-oriented hermeneutics with a semantic-pragmatic approach to understand verbal implications in the discursive context and a comparative-historical analytical method to trace the evolution of thought, examines the theological and ethical works of three prominent theologians of this period and focuses on the concept of "independence of reason in the perception of good and evil" as the connecting point of theoretical rationality and virtue-oriented ethics. Sayyid Murtaza, emphasizing the theory of rational duty, provided the basis for ethics independent of the Sharia. Sheikh Tusi logically expanded this framework and outlined the complementary relationship between reason and the Sharia.
