New Spirituality is known for its opposition to official institutions of religion and its defense of acquiring a spiritual and moral norm from the inside. Although new spiritualism might count as a sort of spiritual isolationism, it can be shown that, despite their internalism, new spiritualists partake in social affairs, taking themselves to be pioneers in sympathy, empathy, and cooperation in the society. Given this social contribution, the present paper seeks to examine axiological foundations and the model of social communications adopted by new spiritualists in order to show that challenges arise for their philanthropist and altruistic activities to be called moral. In elaborating the challenges, I have mostly drawn upon issues regarding moral relativism and moral egoism in moral philosophy. Thus, this paper will seek to consider these challenges in order to see whether altruistic activities of new spiritualists can rightly be deemed moral. Does new spiritualism lead to the spread of social ethics, despite being collective? This paper only aims to demonstrate challenges for the morality of social interactions in new spiritualism, paving the path for an answer to the above questions.
