Beliefs, regulations, and ethics can be considered as pillars and essential components of Islam, which also apply to an Iranian-Islamic city. The identity and structure of an Iranian-Islamic city possess elements that necessitate the realization of Islamic teachings and ethics within each of them. Neglecting Islamic beliefs, regulations, and ethics leads to the disorder and degradation of the physical and spiritual aspects of the city and a shift away from its Islamic identity. In Iran, the disregard for Islamic regulations in the process of architecture and urban planning has resulted in the construction of buildings, creation of spaces, and urban fabric that are incompatible with Islamic teachings and objectives. The aim of this research is to extract the main components of the urban structure and identity of an Iranian-Islamic city and elucidate the ethical requirements in this process. Citizens, buildings, urban infrastructure, and the natural environment are crucial elements of a city that shape its image and identity. Beliefs and convictions, emotions and sentiments, traditions and rituals, as well as the meanings and history of the city, are recognized as the foundational structure and pillars of a city. Islamic ethics, consisting of principles and teachings such as seeking proximity to God, adherence to obligations, benevolence, and moderation, can manifest in the image and structure of an Iranian-Islamic city.
