The application of the ijtihad method in the science of ethics has been proposed by researchers in several forms, but due to its unknown nature or doubts about the effectiveness of this scientific method in ethics, it has not yet reached the dominant methodological approach in this science; the aim of this research was to identify the capacity and advantages of the ijtihad method in Islamic ethics, "theorizing" and "knowledge management" (from the general policies announced by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution). After addressing the essence of "ethics" and the "ijtihad method in ethics", using the descriptive and inferential method, it became clear: the ijtihad method in ethics is "in harmony with the Quran and Sunnah", "comprehensive and profound", "valid and has religious authority", "compatible with jurisprudence and law", "original and flexible", "has the capacity to resolve conflicts", "rational-oriented", "determinant in fundamental studies" and "promoting ethics with divine standards". From the research findings, it was concluded that the "ijtihad method in Islamic ethics" can be considered as a "standard method" in Islamic ethics studies and make the idea of macro-knowledge management available through the management of its method.
