Reviving special attention to animal rights and combating any violation of animal rights, alongside raising ethical concerns, are among the strengths of Peter Singer - one of the contemporary advocates of animal welfare. By raising the issue of equality and the need for equal consideration of animals and humans, he has spoken of the need to change the way animals are treated, and by denying human superiority over animals, he has considered all uses of animals as instrumental and human attention to members of their own species as undesirable and unethical. In this paper, with a comprehensive look at Singer's perspective and the structure of his thought on animals, the Islamic viewpoint on this issue is elucidated, emphasizing that given the special status of humans in the universe and the existential differences between humans and animals, the purposeful and responsible use of animals by humans is ethically permissible, and what is condemned is the unjustified preference of one species over another. The superiority of humans over animals not only does not mean the legitimacy of a superiority-seeking attitude of humans towards animals, but also leads to greater human responsibility and more careful observance of animal rights.
