Thinkers like Spinoza, Kant, and Nietzsche even deny the moral value of humility, let alone consider it as a virtue. According to them, humility and modesty cannot be morally positive due to the conflict with human values such as strength, creativity, happiness, self-satisfaction, and self-confidence, which are necessary for human progress in scientific and practical aspects. This understanding of the meaning and value of humility, which is against the emphasis of many moral schools, especially religious schools, on the virtue of humility, has found new favor in the works of contemporary authors and also in some scientific societies, in a way that proving the value of scientific humility among some academic professions has faced with doubts. This article aims to review and reread the meaning and moral value of epistemological and scientific or scholarship humility by using the method of verbal and epistemological content analysis. This rereading, which is done with a questioning mind after considering the criticisms and negative attitudes of the aforementioned thinkers and writers on the positive moral value of humility, achieves the discovery of new horizons around the concept of humility and its virtue.
